Discuss it: ask for input in an accessible way and provide insight into the opinions of others.

By starting with a statement or a closed question, you encourage participants to share their own arguments or ideas. With AI support and by making each other’s arguments visible, Discuss it ensures high-quality input and strengthens social dialogue.

Providing accessible input

Discuss it makes it easy to provide input. Participants do not need to log in or register. The starting point is a closed question or statement, after which you ask for arguments or ideas. Combining an open question (arguments or ideas) with a closed one, makes it easier for the participant to provide input.

AI support

Discuss it comes with AI support for feedback and moderation as standard. It provides feedback to participants if an answer is insufficiently substantiated. In addition, AI screens for toxicity and inappropriate language. This allows us to lower the barriers for participants considerably, while maintaining the high quality of the input.

We also use AI for fast and smart processing of the open input, so that you can easily continue working with all the input in next steps.

Insight into the opinions of others

After giving their own input, participants also get to see input from others, which they can like. They get shown input from people who agree with them, and from people who disagree with them. This shows that you are not alone, but also breaks through the bubbles of self-righteousness. Depending on the objective of the project, we can also make other choices here.

Discuss it stands on its own, but we often combine it with Tell it. Citizens first receive background information in a visual way, after which they can share an informed opinion.

Caruna: Dialogue about the place of care in tomorrow's society

CM – Christelijke mutualiteit (Christian Mutuality) initiated a broad social debate on care. To make that broad debate concrete, we started with a few statements: ‘If you make time to care for a loved one, should that time count towards your pension?’ ‘Should the government organise campaigns to guide boys towards care training programmes?’ Each statement was introduced by a concise context via Tell it.

Visitors indicated the extent to which they agreed or disagreed with the statement, and gave their opinion. The nearly 6,000 (!) responses were analysed using AI and formed the basis of a report to be used in live discussions in the next phase of the project.

Multi-year plans for local authorities

Several local authorities have used Discuss it to gather input for their multi-year plans. They selected a number of key priorities and provided important context via Tell it. Through a closed question, citizens could indicate the actions they considered most important for a key priority, and then submit their own ideas. Local authorities subsequently received clear summaries of all the input provided, enabling them to get started on their multi-year plans.
